eSquared (e²) Project: Vocational training for 34 underprivileged youths in Vietnam

The eSquared (e²) project is an intiative from Freudenberg Group where e² fundings are available for any common-good oriented projects in the areas of education and the environment. The goal is to contribute in the areas of helping people obtain a quality education and employment, and in fostering environmental protection. 

Upon approaching the local SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam that protects and cares for children and youths in need, we wasted no time in developing a 12-months vocational programme for the maturing youths in hope for them to find a good job upon graduation. The disciplines include Automotive Repair, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Refrigeration, and even hands-on internship with reputable enterprises in the corporate world etc.  

Internally within our office, we involved some keen colleagues from Chem-Trend Vietnam and SurTec Vietnam, besides a few other interested distributors, forming a career consultancy team for 34 participating youths in late December 2021. The youths came from multiple cities, such as Da Nang, Dien Bien, Haiphong, Hue, Nha Trang, Pleiku and more. It was a 2-hour session carried out with intensive discussions.

In addition to this meaningful contribution, the e² project allows FCS Vietnam employees to work with one another out of office operations during a recent BenTre SOS Village visit. We visited and had bonding opportunities with our local channel partners where some activities require joint efforts and contributions. We are also grateful for the contributions of computers, laptops and calculators which were kindly procured by HoangAnh, Nhat Duy, ThinhViet and VuMinh to enable the students to practice after lesson hours.

Come June 2022, the youths will be commencing their vocational studies and we wish them all the very best in their journey of vocational learning.
