Remote kiln open gear inspection in Vietnam

Along with Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, sales engineer from VuMinh Company Ltd., we set off to visit a Cement customer based in Quang Binh Province on February 03 and connected with Mr. Natarajan Pogiri based in Klüber Lubrication India via Microsoft HoloLens 2.

The kiln has a Thermal Power Design (TPD) of 5,000 with an open gear (spur) that allowed lubrication of Klüberfluid C-F3 Ultra by immersion. The kiln was operating regularly during our inspection.

We found the gear well-lubricated as Klüberfluid C-F3 Ultra creates a thick lubricating film on the tooth surface. Pittings were noted due to many years of kiln operation.  

Using a thermal camera, we checked that the temperature difference among five points were low at an average of 1.2 degree celsius, which was within the acceptable range of approximately 5 degree celsius.

Since the load was evenly distributed across the pinion, we recommended the Cement customer to keep using the same product for its kiln so as to maintain the current optimal operations.
