We are delighted to share our very first customer visit, from the Cement industry using Microsoft HoloLens 2 Industrial Edition.
As the customer required our support to make a service inspection for an open gear of the kiln, we proceeded to book a time with them together with Mr. Natarajan Pogiri, our Heavy Industry expert who is situated in India.
Mr. Tuan Viet Nguyen travelled to the customer's site in the morning and was brought to the kiln concerned. He turned on the HoloLens and established a connection with Mr. Pogiri who was situated in India. Mr. Pogiri was able to view the kiln through the HoloLens and guided Mr. Viet on the process of service inspection, which entailed temperature taking, gear teeth and pinion checking, root clearance, nozzle distance and spray pattern checking.
Thereafter, Vu Minh Co., our channel partner took over the open gear cleaning to remove some residues which includes old lubricant and metal chips found on the surface of the gear teeth. The cleaning was done using a special tool - a spray gun which contained compressed air, and ran it without load. A layer of Klüberfluid C-F 3 Ultra was applied subsequently on the gear teeth surface prior to the resumption of the machine operations.
The customer was impressed to have witnessed a smooth remote connection with our Heavy Industry expert. With the help of such technology, we are confident in helping our customers with swifter yet comprehensive support as we can involve our experts online right through to the applications, hence reducing travel requirements and speed up issue resolutions while reducing costs incurred on both sides.
We have some other projects in the pipeline where we would be setting up an online connection with Mr. Dirk Farby, our Marine expert based in Munich, Germany through HoloLens in end September or October. This involves checking the application of Klüberplex AG 11-462 within the harbour port premises.
