Reducing downtimes and extending maintenance intervals with innovative speciality lubricants

Klüber Lubrication presents a new Gear Oil Booster and a new Rescue Grease for more efficiency in wind turbines at WindEnergy 2024 in hall B6, booth B6.526.

High-quality specialty lubricants make an effective and indispensable contribution to the efficient operation of wind turbines. At WindEnergy 2024, Klüber Lubrication will present new approaches, products and innovations that help to increase efficiency even further. This includes, in particular, a new Gear Oil Booster and a new Rescue Grease.

“A reliably functioning technology is an absolute prerequisite for wind energy to fulfill its promise of generating energy as a resource-friendly form of energy,” explains Daniel Narnhammer, Head of Global Business Team (GBT) Wind Energy at Klüber Lubrication. “At Klüber Lubrication, we have a range of proven products for wind turbines which we are continuously developing and optimizing. The open exchange with our customers is always an important source of input for the development of new products and services which increase the efficiency of the systems and at the same time reduce costs for the operators.”

Gear Oil Booster

The new LifeTime Extension (LTE) Booster Concentrate was specifically developed to freshen up important characteristics of Klübersynth GEM 4-320 N gear oil and to significantly extend its service life. In particular, the booster enriches various additives to maintain the high protection of gearboxes and bearings, slow down the ageing process of the gear oil and improve the anti-foaming properties. This allows the oil change intervals to be extended by up to 50 percent.

Rescue Grease

Once damage to rolling bearings has occurred, a short-term repair is usually not possible and the period until regular maintenance is often long. With the new Rescue Grease Klübersynth BEM 48-1501, failures caused by damage to rolling bearings can be avoided or delayed until the next scheduled maintenance. Klübersynth BEM 48-1501 is simply added to the operating fluid. The high base oil viscosity and the Extreme Pressure (EP) additive it contains, as well as selected solid lubricants, provide additional protection for the already damaged metal surface, so that operation can continue without disruption until the next scheduled maintenance.

For more cost efficiency and sustainability

In addition to these innovations, the focus will be on Klüber Lubrication’s proven products and their further development, which contribute to greater cost efficiency and the more sustainable operation of wind turbines. These include cleaning products for gearboxes and bearings as well as biodegradable greases for bearing lubrication.

One of Klüber Lubrication's services of particular interest to wind turbine operators are the Remote Experts, which provide immediate live on-site support from a worldwide network of tribology experts, service engineers and other specialists. Thanks to the new support by visual inspection technology and remote access to the systems, users receive optimum competent support without any delay due to travel times.

Visitors to WindEnergy 2024 have the opportunity to make an appointment with Klüber Lubrication experts in advance online at https://www.klueber.com/landingpages/de/en/klm/windenergy/. The experts will be available to answer any questions in Hall B6, Stand B6.526.
